Welcome to a new year at PS 180! I am Nickia Burgess, proud Principal of our vibrant and ever‑growing school community.

 

Over the past three years, PS 180 has expanded its vision, strengthened its partnerships, and deepened its commitment to nurturing every child academically, socially, and emotionally. Our students continue to shine, and our school continues to rise.

PS 180 is now home to exciting new collaborations in the arts cultivating creativity, innovation, and confidence. From dance, voice, theater, and visual arts our scholars have more opportunities than ever to explore their passions and discover new ones.

We are also proud to offer extended‑day programs for all grades, ensuring every child has access to enrichment, clubs, and safe, joyful spaces to learn and grow. These programs, combined with our whole‑child approach, support students’ academic progress, emotional wellness, and social development.

Our partnerships have opened doors for students to perform and showcase their talents citywide, representing PS 180 with pride across New York City. Whether on stage, in competitions, or at community events, our scholars continue to demonstrate excellence, leadership, and creativity. As we move forward, our mission remains clear: to create a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child feels seen, supported, and empowered. Together, families, educators, and community partners, we will continue building a school where students thrive and lifelong memories are made.
