Kindergarten Admissions
The kindergarten application is currently closed. If your child was born in 2018 and lives in New York City, they are eligible to attend kindergarten in fall 2023. You can still participate in kindergarten admissions by adding them to program waitlists now.
In New York City, children enter kindergarten in the fall of the calendar year they turn five, and are guaranteed a kindergarten seat at a public school. Once your child starts kindergarten, they can remain at the same school until its final elementary grade.
If your child was born in 2018 and lives in New York City, they are eligible to attend Kindergarten for September 2023. Please visit the NYC DOE kindergarten enrollment page.

How to Apply to Kindergarten
Families with children who will enter kindergarten should apply to kindergarten online, over the phone, or in-person at a Family Welcome Center.
