Program Descriptions: 

CREATE (Grades Pre-K through 5)

 

CREATE is Roads to Success's model for youth in grades K-5 that focuses on growth, collaboration, and passion exploration. Participants are empowered to discover new skills and aptitudes integral to their academic and personal lives. The CREATE program allows space for students to experiment with creative expression, practice concrete play, and form bonds with peers and mentors alike.

 

Through age-targeted project-based instruction and social-emotional learning (SEL) activities, participants:

  • Learn community orientation

  • Develop positive academic behavior, and

  • Achieve measurable gains in SEL

 

DAILY PROGRAM FEATURES:

Enrichment Activities​

  • Math & Reading Activities

  • Homework Support

  • Academic Games

 

Community Building

  • Cheers

  • Appreciation Ceremonies

 

These activities will culminate in events and showcases where families can come and celebrate their children’s milestones and accomplishments together.

 

 

RTS EXPLORE (Grades 6th - 8th)

A daily afterschool program that brings positive mentors and a wide range of enrichment activities to the students of PS 180. RTS EXPLORE is Roads to Success's model for youth in grades 6-8 that focuses on collaboration and passion exploration.

 

Through project-based instruction and social-emotional learning (SEL) activities, participants:

1. Learn community orientation.

2. Foster social and emotional competencies and physical well-being in a safe and nurturing environment.

3. Gain opportunities to explore their interests and creativity.

4. Build skills that raise their expectations and confidence.

5. Cultivate youth leadership and community engagement.

DAILY PROGRAM FEATURES:

• Project-based instruction through a variety of STEM, arts, sports, and leadership activities to promote passion exploration and skills development

• Theme days and talent showcases

• Community building activities (Cheers, Group Games, Appreciation Ceremonies, etc.)

 

These activities will culminate in events and showcases where families can come and celebrate their children’s milestones and accomplishments together.

3K PROGRAMMING COMING SEPTEMBER 2023!

RTS can accommodate 3K students next year when the following conditions are met:

  • Once a child reaches his or her 3rd birthday. (Two year olds will not be accepted to after-school programming.)

  • Child is able to handle his/her pull-up on their own and/or fully potty trained.

How to Register    for  Roads to Success: 

Middle School Boys & Girls Basketball Teams is now through RTS!

Participation in RTS is required to play on the boys' and girls' basketball teams.

Full scholarships are available for middle school students.

Dear Harlem Center Families,

 

It's that time again! 

 

We will begin our After School enrollment for Elementary School currently in grades K-5. Click here to view the PAL enrollment form for K-5. An ASP enrollment form must be filled out for each participant. You should use the grade your child will be in September 2022 to complete the application.

 

After completing the enrollment forms, All required documents must be attached for the application to be submitted. (Application will not be considered if required documents are not attached.) If your child is currently a SUMMER DAY CAMP participant, you will still need to attach the required documents:

  • Birth Certificate

  • Medical form (non-expired)

  • Report card (Most recent)

  • Proof of address

  • a photo of the child 

 

Once the enrollment form is completed, email the application and the documents to the following email address harlem@palnyc.net. Applications must be emailed to this address only, to be considered. Once completed, save the PDF as LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME ASP APPLICATION. Please use your child’s name.

 

Submission of an application does not guarantee your child’s acceptance to the program. Applications will be considered on a first come-first served basis until each grade is full. How to Apply for  PAL: 

1. Please download the PDF After School Application for K-5 and the PDF Advantage After School Application for 6-8. 

2. Using Adobe Acrobat Reader, please use sign and fill (entirely free for download) and enter all the necessary information. It can be done at the mandatory orientation if you cannot sign electronically.

3. Once completed, save the PDF as LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME ASP APPLICATION. Please use your child’s name.

4. Please read the cover sheet* for the required documents.
5. Email completed application to the Harlem Center (emails are included on the cover sheet).

6. You will receive an email confirmation from the center that your completed application was received.
