What if my child gets sick or has an accident at school?
Please keep your child at home if he/she is ill. They will not be able to perform their best and may increase the risk of spreading colds and germs to others.
An ill child may not remain in school.
Parents can help control the spread of illness by:
• Training children to wash their hands thoroughly.
• Keeping children with a fever home from school.
• Keeping children at home when the first signs of illness appear.
• Training children to cover their mouths and noses when coughing and sneezing.
Ryan Health is now offering COVID-19 testing by appointment at our main centers for SBHC patients by appointment. We are excited to share this opportunity for convenient and safe testing with families at PS180.
At the start of the school year, you will receive permission notices for your child to receive both dental and ophthalmologic exams at school. By signing these forms, you are giving permission for your child to be examined and treated by SUNY School of Optometry and Columbia Dental.
DENTAL AND OPHTHALMOLOGICAL EXAMS
PS/IS 180 has both dental and ophthalmological clinics on site. Students can receive dental exams and cleanings in grades PreK- 8.
In the past the ophthalmological clinic was staffed on Thursdays from 9:00am until 12:00pm, and the dental clinic was open on Tuesdays from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Please note that this schedule is subject to change and that we will try to update the website as soon as we have current information.
