trait of the month:
Knowing what's right doesn't mean much unless you do what's right.
- President Theodore Roosevelt
Bullying has three key components—unwanted, aggressive behavior; a real or perceived power imbalance, and repetition; and the potential to be repeated over time (stopbullying.gov). Students are currently learning the difference between a conflict they may experience at recess versus bullying from a peer.
At PS/IS 180, we are committed to educating to prevent bullying in our school community. This month, students are learning how to be kind and tolerant, as well as learning strategies to handle bullying in different forms.
