ARRIVAL

Arrival for Pre-Kindergarten students
Parents should bring their children to their class at 8 am and sign them in each morning.

Arrival for students in Grades K-2
All students meet their teachers in the cafeteria at 8 am. All children are to line up in two straight lines with each class. Teachers will greet their classes and take attendance promptly at 8am and escort them to class.  Students will be marked late if they are not in cafeteria when attendance is taken.

Arrival for students in Grades 3 and 4
All students meet their teachers in the auditorium at 8 am. Teachers will greet their classes and take attendance promptly at 8am and escort them to class. Students will be marked late if they are not in the auditorium when attendance is taken.

Arrival for students in Grades 5-8
All students meet their teachers in the gymnasium at 8am. Teachers will greet their classes and take attendance promptly at 8am and escort them to class. Students will be marked late if they are not in the gym when attendance is taken.

All students are permitted to enter the building as early as 7:30 am.

 

DISMISSAL

When and where are children dismissed?
All students are dismissed at 2:20pm everyday.

Pre-K and K students are dismissed in their classrooms. If parents/guardians are late, students are escorted to Room #132 for pickup.

Grades 1, 2 and 3 are dismissed in the auditorium.

Grades 4-8 are dismissed the lobby. 

 

Students who are part of exterior afterschool programs like PAL will be picked up by their programs in the gymnasium.

 

If an adult will be picking up your child please send a note notifying the teacher who the responsible person will be.  This person’s information must be on the Blue Emergency Card.

 

Early Dismissals

What if I must pick my child up early?

No child will be allowed to leave school early unless accompanied by an adult.  Please call the main office (212-678-2849) and send a note with your child notifying the teacher so that they can be prepared.  All children must be signed out in the main office.  Only parents, guardians, and family members over 18, whose names are indicated on the Blue Emergency Card may pick up their child early. 

 

Late Pick Ups

What if I am late picking up my child?
It is important that your child is picked up ON TIME.  School personnel are not required to be in school after 2:20 p.m.  There is no provision for after school supervision of your child. 

When do I pick up my child on a ½ day?
On Early Dismissal Days (½ Days) children will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m (grades 3-8) 11:15 a.m. (grades Pre-K-2).
